A Juniper Research projection estimates there will be 8.4 billion voice assistants like Siri, Google Home and Alexa in use by 2024. Meanwhile, the United Nations estimates the world population will reach 8.1 billion by then. In a few years, there may be more smart speakers on the planet than actual people on earth to speak to them. These projections don’t mean that every person will have their own voice assistant — some people will have multiples — but it does suggest that voice search will gain popularity.
